About me

Jenna Rutherford

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and have six years post qualification experience in private practice. I also work within the N.H.S in an intermediate service agencie providing C.B.T to patients with a range of psychological disorders. During my training I volunteered in various agencies, these include drug and alcohol, domestic violence and bereavement.

Since qualifying I have continued my professional development by undertaking short courses, the last one of which being Dream Works and The Alchemy of Relationships from a transpersonal approach. It is my aim to continue my professional growth and development through further study

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and as such adhere to their code of ethics and practice. I am at present working towards BACP accreditation.

Prior to my counselling training I worked with children, both in school and home settings. I feel this has given me great insight into family dynamics, child development and intricate personnel relationships. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is at the very foundation of effective therapy and as such work from a person- centred approach. That said my foundation is integrative and other theoretical approaches influence my practice. My aim is to use what knowledge I have to meet your needs as effectively as I can.
