About me

Jenna Rutherford

MBACP Accredited

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and have seven years post qualification experience in private practice. I also work within an N.H.S intermediate service organisation, providing time limited psychological interventions to clients with a range of difficulties. During my training I volunteered in several agencies, these include drug and alcohol, domestic violence and bereavement.

I am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP Accred) and as such adhere to their code of ethics and practice.

Prior to my counselling training I worked with children, both in school and home settings. I feel this has given me extensive insight into family dynamics, child development and intricate personnel relationships. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is at the very foundation of effective therapy and as such work from a person-centred approach. That said my foundation is integrative and other theoretical approaches influence my practice. I aim to use what knowledge I have to meet your needs as effectively as I can and continue doing so.

Since qualifying I have continued my professional development by undertaking short courses, I have recently trained in hypnotherapy and continue to develop and incorporate Dream Work into my practice from a transpersonal approach.
